A Primary school in Leeds LS8 require are looking for a full-time Year 3 class Teacher for a permanent position starting after the Easter holidays. The original class teacher is due to retire at Easter. This is a 2 form entry Primary school and being an inner city school have a large number of children who are new to England / English.
The school are looking for a teacher with an energetic and engaging classroom presence, who can keep the class focussed and concentrated on the task at hand. Behaviour at the school is of a good standard across the board, so the school are picking a candidate primarily on their teaching ability and style rather than behaviour management. The school encourage a calm approach to de-escalate the rare instances of bad behaviour. As well as teaching style, the Head Teacher is looking for someone who is experienced and knowledgeable in Lower KS2 teaching, specifically Year 3. This is because the school has identified a trend in recent years of a drop-off in lower KS2 year groups, so are keen to address this by appointing a lower KS2 specialist. There are two SEN children in the class with Autism who are helped by the Teaching Assistant, who the candidate will be expected to liaise with as well as the SENCO to effectively plan for SEN children. So any experience in planning and tracking progress of SEN children would be valued.

Working through Teaching Personnel
In this role, you will be paid a daily rate on a weekly basis by Teaching Personnel up to £170 per day (dependant upon experience). The daily rate of pay will be negotiated once the school has selected a candidate they would like to appoint, and we will handle these negotiations as well as any issues relating to vetting, HR, absence on your behalf. Should the school want to keep you past the end of the academic year, then that will be through a permanent contract with the school arranged independently of Teaching Personnel.
