Job Description:

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to teach on an ongoing supply basis. The school PK Education work with are located within driving distance of Leeds, Bradford or Huddersfield. The post is to start after the February half term break and is full time until Easter or potentially longer.

The school is an eight-form entry, co-educational school, which caters for students between the ranges of 11 to 16 with currently 929 students on roll.  The catchment area is principally owner-occupied housing with a smaller proportion of established council housing.  Almost 17% of the student intake is from minority ethnic groups (around 11% are from families originating from Pakistan).  Almost 33% of our students are entitled to support through the Pupil Premium and 24% are currently eligible for free school meals. 

Suitable applicants for this position will:  

Have a recognised teaching qualification and hold QTS or QTLS.
Have a positive approach to managing difficult behaviour and be passionate about History
Have experience teaching Key Stage 3 & 4 History

Essential Skills & Experience

Good understanding of your subject secondary curriculum
A record of appropriate and continuing CPD
Good understanding of school improvement and Ofsted inspection framework
Knowledge of departmental monitoring and tracking systems and their role in securing improvement
Ability to use Raise Online and other data to analyse and evaluate school/departmental performance
Good understanding and knowledge of current and new examination specifications
Ability to offer advice on school-based assessments and on examination preparation for examinations
Knowledge and understanding of marking criteria 
Salary and Benefits:

-Competitive daily rates of pay from between £110 to £168 per day (AWR Compliant).This can increase if a role increases in length
