 This amazing tie that we haven’t seen since 1991 comes to our TV screens on BT Sport as another classic champions league tie, Simeone is in his possibly worst spell as a manager and despite his loyalty the owners must be looking unfavourably at him whilst Ralf Rangick along with Man United FC are being hated online as usual.

02′ Rashford tries heading the ball but Renan Lodi pressures him and he looses it for a throw in.

03′ Harry Maguire concedes a corner then he clears it and Correa gets onto the ball as he starts dribbling through Lindelöf tackles him.

05′ Joao Felix runs at the defence and shoots but its slightly wide and he continues searching for his first champions league goal this season.

06′ Atletico have been the more dominant team in the opening phase and they line up another corner.

07′ Joao Felix scores. Renan Lodi gets the ball following a clearance from the corner and he crosses it in to Joao Felix who stretches his neck muscles past Harry Maguire and of the post then into the goal goes the ball.

12′ Varane sends out a long ball into Ronaldo who tries getting past but there are two defenders around him and he’s tackled.

13′ Herrera crosses the ball and Maguire squeezes in and slides it away.

 15′ Bruno Fernandes takes a long shot after Rashford’s pass and its deflected so it will be Man United first corner of the night.

17′ Lindelöf is challenged outside Atletico’s box and Atletico look to counter attack but Fred fouls Correa and its a free kick.

19′ The referee gives a Man United throw in but the assistant referee disagrees and Atletico now take the throw.

22′ Llorente plays a cross in but Lindelöf doesn’t take nay risks and its a corner, offside its a free kick to Man United.

24′ Rashford was almost through on goal following a through ball from Ronaldo and Savic slides in to stop the attack, corner. Bruno Fernandes takes and nothing happens with it.

25′ Fred gets a free kick after Kondogbia  gives a big kick on Fred’s heel.

 27′ Lodi swings a good cross in for Joao Felix and his powerful but not very close to the target shot goes over the bar.

30′ Varane makes a simple mistake and Correa is almost through on goal but David De Gea rushes out of his goal and its a free kick.

31′ Varane makes a foul on Renan Lodi slightly outside the box by a small margin. 

32′ Renan Lodi swings it in but Ronaldo heads it clear.

33′ Reinaldo fouls Ronaldo who was on the attack.

34′ Herrera plays a long ball for Renan Lodi who turns Lindelöf and shoots but its off the side netting.

 35′ Ronaldo complains about a foul from Herrera and the Atletico fans will not stop booing them.

36′ Maguire makes a good venture far into the opponents half and passes to Shaw who finds Pogba and then Pogba plays a quick pass to Ronaldo who first time shot is wide from outside the box.

38′ Reinaldo and Renan Lodi pass too much in Man United’s half and the ball is won back.

 40′ Ronaldo is taken from beneath his feet and wins the free kick as usual the fans boo Ronaldo every time he touches the ball.

42′ Llorente and Maguire tangle up and Ma United win a free kick despite his words with the referee and Bruno Fernandes.

43′ Rashford sends a ball in that no one reaches.

44′ Kondogbia takes a free kick after Pogba’s foul

45′ Llorente shoots but Lindelöf  just about gets in the way and even then it hits the bar, Man United are saved from a big scare there.

HT’ And we reach half time after a long half half of Atletico de Madrid destroying Man United despite the 67%, more than a third of possesion whilst Atletico play as they wanted on the counter attack with Renan Lodi and Kondogbia being standouts as well as theses two Joao Felix’s goal was incredible but he and Correa got few chances on the ball. Ralf Rangick is going to need to uplift and encourage the Man United squad and probably make some changes.

47′ Llorente takes another shot from range but he misses.

48′ Lindelöf defends Vrsaljko and its a corner for Atletico.

 50′ Luke Shaw is shown yellow for a foul on Vrsaljko.

51′ Herrera takes a free kick that goes wide and David De Gea takes a goal kick that only goes as far as Maguire.

52′ Renan Lodi gets faked by Varane as he makes it look like he’s going in for the challenge till the last second.

53′ Joao Felix wins a free kick from a tackle from fellow Portuguese teammate Bruno Fernandes despite it being a light tackle.

54′ Sancho passes to Bruno Fernandes but his shot is wide.

 57′ Pogba tackles Correa and he grabs it before the whistle so it is Man United’s free kick.

59′ The offside flag goes up or Joao Felix who was offside before he made the move.

60′ Reinaldo makes a lovely block and Joao Felix is taken down by Lindelöf who in turn gets a booking.

62′ Reinaldo gets his first yellow card for Atletico.

64′ Bruno Fernandes takes the free kick but its cleared by Herrera and Llorente has the ball, Rashford tackles him and gets a yellow card.

66′ Man United make three substitutions with Matic coming on for Pogba, Wan Bissaka for Lindelöf and Alex Telles for Shaw.

68′ Correa makes a tactical handball but doesn’t get booked.

73′ Fred crosses it but Oblak catches it and it was his all the way.

74′ Lodi puts a ball in for Correa but its blocked by Varane Fred gets a yellow for a foul in open play.

75′ Fred clears the corner on the floor and Kondogbia shoots but it was too high in the end.

75′ Antoine Griezmann comes back from injury and Joao Felix comes of after an amazing display, him being the difference between the two with a super header.

 77′ Correa commits a foul outside the box defending against Fred and Ronaldo looks like he will be taking, but his free kick talent has really dropped of since his departure from Old Trafford many years ago.

80′ Elenga scores. He comes and an five minutes later he scores he runs past the defence after Bruno’s pass and thanks to Oblak’s bad positioning its in the goal. What a hero.

83′ Matic goes down after committing a foul on Herrera and he takes but its wide from the cross.

 85′ Wan Bissaka gets there in time with his pace to stop Griezmann being through.

 86′ It looks like Antony Elanga is going to be the hero but Atletico have a corner, Griezmann has a chance and he shoots but its of the bar and then Thomas  Lemar crossed the ball but its deflected wide by Ronaldo.

88′ Reinaldo clears it straight back to Man United and they start some more build up play but it ends in nothing.

90+!’ Manuel Matic clears it away and goes down, it looks like he’s going to be needing medical attention.

90+2′ Alex Telles sends in the second ball in the minute but neither is eventful.

90+3′ Kondogbia manages to win a free kick to calm Atletico Madrid down and there’s only two minutes left to go.

90+4′ Ronaldo had the ball but he’s shoulder bugged down and its not a free kick.

FT’ Atletico may have played much better but Elanga will be the headline as he does tremendously well to score, neither goalkeeper had too much work to do.
